Why owning an iPhone is like a owning fireplace back to 1992?
Richness and poverty is have somewhat fuzzy frontiers. However according to the economic statistic it is strictly defined by the income. But what unifies all the riches? What are common traits that allows to guess if person is rich or poor by knowing what he owns?

Back to the 1992 rich people the best guess was to test if the person is...

Owning an automatic dishwasher!

71,4 percent chance of guessing right if the person is rich was by knowing that he owns an dishwasher. And uses dishwasher detergent - that’s the second most reliable guess with 70,2 percent chance.

Third goes «is travelled domestically», owning a garage door sensor, a fireplace... and even eating Hellman’s mayonnaise with 57,4 percent chance.

In 2014 and subsequent years the best way to guess if the person is rich is to check if he owns iPhone or iPad (69 and 64 percent chance respectively). Android are slightly less reliable guess - with 59 percent chance. With most of the phones beong either iPhones or Androids it leaves me confused.
