US opposed to the breast feeding - and not without a reason
The Assembly of World Health Organization, a branch of the UN, has been gathered in Geneva. Among other questions vital to the well-being of the Earth’s population there was a resolution that encourages women to breast feed their babies and reduce the artificial feeding. It was surprising that US has fiercely opposed the resolution and tried hard and rude to dismantle it in a most brutal and blunt way possible.

The benefits of breast feeding are indisputable. It is after all the natural and most safe way to feed the baby. As an outcome of multiple studies it was proven with much more reliable result than the harm of tobacco, for example.

Yet US delegation opposed adoption of any document or declaration which will finalize the benefits of breastfeeding against the artificial formulation.

There is a reason for such ignorance. It is well paid with lobby money from the baby formulas. It is a great market in US and it sees adoption of the breastfeeding encouragement as a threat to profits. They really did not care about anything else.

Ecuador, the author of resolution was openly threaten by US.Condition has been set - if only Ecuador refuses to cancel the resolution it was author of, US would unleash trade sanctions and limit the crucial military aid. After long search for the alternative sponsor of the resolution Russia has stepped in.

Surprisingly, it was the end of the US activity to suppress the voting. Resolution passed with a majority of votes.

“We’re not trying to be a hero here, but we feel that it is wrong when a big country tries to push around some very small countries, especially on an issue that is really important for the rest of the world,” said the Russian delegation.

It has been found that artificial formula is behind 800,000 preventable infant death yearly.
