Russia: Nizhny Novgorod may be left without FIFA World Cup 2018
Once again Nizhny Novgorod can be left without FIFA World Cup 2018. This is all due to new requirements fr om FIFA to a stadium that is built in the center of Nizhny Novgorod region.

On the 20th of August Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko told journalists that FIFA has established new requirements to stadiums that will take part in the tournament. According to these requirements matches will take place only on those stadiums which have at least 35 thousand seats. Stadium in Nizhny Novgorod does not suit these standards.

Results of arena expertise will be announced in Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd. Both arenas were constructed in according with standards which were established in 2011. In case FIFA decides to change their capacity, both projects will be closed. New expertise will take place which will take more than a half year.

Vitaly Mutko will visit all cities of Nizhny Novgorod region wh ere preparations for the FIFA 2018 take place. Only those cities which are absolutely ready for the tournament will be included in the list. Infrastructure, stadiums and other features will be taken into consideration during the visit.
