Russia: Nizhny Novgorod Great Mosque will be restored by 2015

Nizhny Novgorod Spiritual Administration of Muslims website says that restoration will be made in order to commemorate 100th anniversary that will be celebrated in 2015.

Russia: Nizhny Novgorod Great Mosque will be restored by 2015

Construction of Nizhny Novgorod Great Mosque has started in 1913. It was officially resented to the public in 1915. This mosque belongs to monuments of the federal value.

The building needs repairing at the moment. It is necessary to fix roof, replace heating systems, wiring, redecorating of the prayer hall and change all the doors in the output groups. 10 million rubles are necessary to proceed with all needed repairing works. These works are made with the help of personal funds as well as support of regional government and Maecenas.

2.5 million rubles were forwarded for repairing works form Nizhny Novgorod budget. These funds are provided in accordance with resolution about support of religious organizations.

The second Great Mosque will be opened on the 9th of August in Dzershinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region.
