Russia: Bison from Nizhniy Novgorod zoo was presented with an edible necklace

Bison from Nizhniy Novgorod zoo was presented with an edible necklace. This information was provided by “Limpopo” zoo media office.

Bison named Murat has celebrated his 10th birthday on the 12th of August. That is why employees of the zoo decided to prepare presents and different delicious staff for it. They created a large edible necklace which consisted of fruits which are Murat’s favorite. All visitors of the zoo were also able to take part in celebration. However they were prohibited to feed bison in accordance with rules of the zoo.

It should be mentioned that bison is the biggest and the heaviest mammal in Europe and is the last representative of wild buffalos on Earth. Its teeth are 330 centimeters long; it is two meters high including shoulders. It can weigh up to 1 ton. It was already included in Red Book of Rare Animals.

Murat lives at Nizhny Novgorod zoo together with its soul mate Muza. It has already presented him with 4 cubs. They are bringing up their latest cub Musha that was born in September 2013.
