Retail product prices do not increase in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia
Nizhny Novgorod Department of Antimonopoly Service has opened hotline on the 19th of August. The main aim is to control and monitor price level of food products in local shops and supermarkets. In case citizens notice inappropriate increase of price on agricultural products, they are able to complain about it via hotline. The Head of media office Anna Suvorova said that there has not been received a call during two weeks.

Nevertheless, representatives of Antimonopoly Department proceed with regular checks and price monitoring in Nizhny Novgorod region. 25 important product items are under control since 2010. Everyday random control of retail price has been already implemented in different markets, small shops and large retail chains and supermarkets. They also include kiosks and open sales platforms. Moreover special request have also been made in order to check with current wholesale prices of agricultural products in Nizhny Novgorod region. In spite of several complains about price increase of several European types of products (fruits, olive oil, cheese) which are still available in some shops, prices of products which are included in Food Basket are the same.

Note: the hotline is available for all citizens of Nizhny Novgorod region 5 days a week from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Its number is +7-950-360-20-50.
