Nizhny Novgorod region will request 35 billion rubles for construction of bridge in Podnovye, Russia

Nizhny Novgorod region will request 35 billion rubles from the National Welfare Fund for construction of Volga Bridge in Podnovye. This information was provided by ITAR TASS agency. The total cost of the project is approximately 60 billion rubles. Project Director of Urban and Road Infrastructure of the Federal Center of Project Finance Alexander Yashechkin reported that concession competition will be held in 2015. It will last for approximately 6 months. Final decision will be made by representatives of Nizhny Novgorod region. A winner of this competition will have to make concession payment which will be used by the region authorities for covering expenses on survey and design works. Concession term is 25 years. There are 15 potential investors at the moment. All of them are ready to get acquainted with this project. They include both Russian and foreign investors. New Volga Bridge will be 4.7 km long. It will consist of four traffic lanes. By the way, drivers will have to pay in case they want to drive along the bridge. This project is supposed to reduce the load level of Borsky Bridge.
