“Museum Capital” festival has taken place in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

An exciting festival has taken place from 28th to 30th August in the capital of Volga region. It is called “Museum Capitol of Nizhny Novgorod region”. This is already 10th event and it has already turned into an annual tradition. All information is available on the official website of City Administration. Interesting programs and exhibitions were prepared for guests.

The opening ceremony of the festival has taken place on the 28th of August at 12 a.m. in the Ballroom of Rukavishnokov Barton. In addition special seminar which was devoted to development of museums in Nizhny Novgorod was held in State Exhibition Center. Guests of Russian Museum of Photography were able to visit photo exhibition which was devoted to the 100th anniversary of the First World War. Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum has arranged exciting multimedia outdoor evening.

Open Days have started on the 29th of August. Museums were open for everyone who wanted to take part in different excursions and exhibitions. “Arsenal” center of modern art prepared a great surprise for its guest. “Contemporary” program has been arranged. It was devoted to ethnography. Visitors were able to meet with Udmurt famous artist Zoya Lebedeva. Literature Museum invited on a “Dialogue with History”. New “Theatre Prelude” project will be presented in National Ballet and Opera Theater. “The Burial of Christ” exhibition has been presented in National Art Museum of Nizhny Novgorod. Paintings of Nikolay Koshelev were displayed there.

On the 30th of August “Schelokovsky Hutor” Architectural and Ethnographic Museum-Reserve has prepared an exciting interactive program that included other museums from different parts of Nizhny Novgorod region. An exhibition of the author's scrappy plastics has taken place in Dobrolyubov Museum. It also included professional classes and trainings. History restoration clubs have also prepared pleasant surprises and arranged their own festival.
