Loss of smell may be the death harbinger
Loss of smell may turn out to be a death harbinger. Such conclusion has been made by specialists of Chicago University after they have overviewed 3 thousand people from 57 to 85 years old. The information is provided by medikforum.ru.  

The research has shown that people who faced problem o smell loss died 4 times more often in comparison with others. Moreover all of them died within 5 years after the problem occurred. As a result 39% of all people without smell died. Group with those who suffered from worsening of smell ability, lost 19% of members. And only 10% of people without such problems died during this period. Scientists have taken into consideration different factors which also included gender, health conditions and even social status of every person in order to make conclusion.

It is also rather interesting to know that newborns have very well developed small abilities. However they become twice worse during the first year of their lives. This ability is becoming worse every year. Women are able to keep it better for longer period in comparison with men.
