Joseph Blatter: FIFA World Cup 2018 will take place in Russia
Some mass media say that EU countries are preparing new sanctions against Russian Federation. These sanctions may influence culture and sports of the country. Russian membership in such sporting organizations as FIFA and UEFA are discussed by Europeans at the moment. Such situation may have a negative influence on the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2018 which will take place in Russia.

At the same time FIFA President Joseph Blatter has made an official statement. He noted in this statement that even implemented sanctions will not prevent Russia from hosting the upcoming World Championship.

“Changing a country is out of the question. We rely on countries that will host FIFA World Cups in 2018 and 2022. We trust them. World Championship 2018 will take place in Russia. We are waiting for official statement from representatives of FIFA Ethics Committee,” – said Joseph Blatter.

We should mentions that some US and EU representatives are against the fact that FIFA World Cup 2018 will take place in Russia. That is why they applied to FIFA with requirement to boycott the upcoming sporting event.
