Finally Hyperloop hype produces some results: a sluggish journey for 500 meters
The Virgin company's hyperloop has carried passengers for the first time. In 15 seconds, two employees took about 500 meters to a test site in the desert of the United States of Nevada.

Virgin predicts that the hyperloop, a high-speed train in a vacuum tube, will have a maximum speed of more than 1,000 kilometers per hour. The journey time between the U.S. cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco could be reduced to approximately 45 minutes.

Virgin describes the first human passenger test as a 'historic moment'. One of the passengers, Virgin associate Sara Luchian, said that the journey went well and 'nothing like a roller coaster'. She called the test drive "exciting" and said that she and her fellow passenger did not feel sick afterwards. Virgin had already run about 400 tests without anyone on board.

Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, calls the technology 'groundbreaking.'

,,With today's successful test, we have shown that this view of innovation will change the way people live, work and travel everywhere in the coming years.”

Luchian and her fellow passengers travelled in a two-person capsule, but according to Virgin, there are also trains with room for 28 passengers. The company is also working on the development of capsules for freight. In addition to Virgin, other companies are working on the development of a hyperloop.
