Celebration of 100th anniversary of “Murzilka” journal was held in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia
“Happy birthday, Murzilka!” children holiday has taken place on the 27th of August in Lermontov Library which is located in Avtozavodskoy district, Nizhny Novgorod. This holiday was arranged in order to celebrate 100th anniversary of the most popular Russian journal for kids that is called “Murzilka”. All information about the event is available on the official website of City Administration.

Employees of the Lermontov Library entertained kids with interesting stories about history and development of the most famous Russian journal that has already become a legend. They also told children about history of symbol and logo creation. This extraordinary yellow hero is famous all over the world. Visitors of this holiday had a chance to read the best publications for the last few months and take part in an artistic competition which was called “Draw Murzilka!”.

Note: “Murzilka” is a popular Soviet and Russian monthly journal for children. It is full of literature and artistic content and is appropriate for kids from 6 to 12 years old. The edition of the journal started on the 16th of May 1924. There could be found early publications of such famous Russian writers as Samuil Marshak, Sergei Mikhalkov, Elena Blaginina Boris Zakhoder, Agnes Barto, Nikolai Nosov and many others. This journal has been listed in Guinness Book of Records in 2011 duty to the fact that it is the oldest children journal in the world.
