Attack on the former Charlie Hebdo office is an act of terrorism
French minister of Interior Gerald Darmanin regards Friday's stabbing at Charlie Hebdo's former office as a terrorist attack. The police arrested five more people on Friday night. Two suspects were arrested earlier in the day.

Two people were injured during the stabbing. They are now out of danger. In January 2015, a terrorist attack took place at Charlie Hebdo's office, killing 12 people.

According to Darmanin, the prime suspect is an 18-year-old man from Pakistan who came to France three years ago. He would have been a known member of the authorities for illegal possession of weapons. The other suspect was a man from Algeria.

The five men arrested later on Friday were born between 1983 and 1996, according to French media. They were arrested in the Parisian suburb of Pantin during a search of the prime suspect's residence.

On Friday morning, immediately after the stabbing, the area around the old office was locked down by the police. Schools kept children inside and a number of subway stations were closed.

The two victims work for a production company that makes documentaries and journalistic pieces. Their office was at the same address as Charlie Hebdo's former office.

It is still unclear whether the two attacks have anything to do with each other. The editorial board of the satirical magazine moved to another location after the attack in 2015. It seems that Islamic terrorist were so stupid that they didn't know it.
