Alcohol will no longer be sold in kiosks and outdoor cafes of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia
Alcohol will no longer be sold in kiosks and outdoor cafes of Nizhny Novgorod. Such decision has been made by local government on the 24th of September during the meeting of State Duma. Local authorities have already input a ban on selling alcohol in small retail objects.

Representatives of economic, industrial and business fields have made an offer during meeting of State Duma. The main idea of the offer is to ban alcohol sales in kiosks and outdoor cafes which are considered to be small retailing points of products distribution. All drinks with high percentage of alcohol will no longer be available.

At the same time local government decide to limit selling of beer and other drinks which contain small amount of alcohol. They can be sold only in case small retail objects have necessary documents and are registered as catering objects. Moreover beer will be sold here on tap only.

“On the one hand such measures may have a negative reaction from businessmen and sellers. On the other hand such bill will make it possible to reduce number of complaints from citizens of Nizhny Novgorod regarding the fact that noisy crowds are gathering together and do not let people relax and sleep. That is why such measures are essential for peace and comfort of our citizens”, - says deputy of State Duma Vladimir Panov.
