10 new trams have entered the route in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

10 new trams have entered their routes on the 6th of August. The Head of Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev also decided to take part in a launching ceremony. This information has been provided by governmental media office in Nizhny Novgorod region.

New trams are based on previous models which were produced by “Uraltransmash”. At the same time several important developments have been made. For example, 71-05 wagon has been renewed. All trams are equipped with on-board computers which are in charge of automatic control. At the same time they are able to proceed with testing and diagnostics of all electric equipment. Moreover all trams are equipped with climate control.

The overall length of tram tracks is 186 km in Nizhny Novgorod. There are 295 tram wagons in local tram park. 32 new trams have been purchased during 212 and 2103.
